How do you work this thing? What are my next steps?

So now you have this large unit in your backyard that holds water, but now what? First thing you need to do is take a deep breath because the hard part is finally over!

First thing's first!
  1. When the ATV is filled up to the 4" or 4.5" marker on the walls of the inside of the vessel, it is time to bring your water sample to AquaPRO Pools & Hot Tubs [location link] to get it balanced and ready for you to swim.
  2. The staff at AquaPRO will give you step-by-step instructions on balancing the water on a weekly basis. Once you receive your water test results from the analysis crew, you need to go home and do the step-by-step procedure the exact way that they told you at the store.
  3. Your ATV should be wired and hooked up so that all you need to do is put the chemicals in and turn the jets on to get the water circulating.
  4. Now you are ready to swim and ENJOY!

Maintaining your ATV shouldn't be a hassle, you should enjoy every minute of it. As an owner of an ATV you will need to do most of the same maintaining commonly attributed with a swimming pool -- don't worry though, it's much easier than an actual pool. Water circulation is an important aspect when dealing with such a large body of water, and with the amount of jets the ATV has, half the battle is already won.

Sterilizing or sanitizing is probably the most important step in maintenance. This is due to the amount of exercise and bodily fluids (sweat), that are produced during your workout. If sanitation is not maintained, the bodily fluids excreted into the water over time, will produce an unpleasant look or smell that no one wants to see.

There are many different methods to sanitizing water; chlorine in a floaty, bromine in a floaty, or chlorine with Aqua Finesse Solution. Those are just a few methods that AquaPRO provides. When choosing your sanitation method, keep in mind any allergies that someone may have to the sanitizer you are using. Chlorine and bromine are both really effective methods of sanitation on their own, but with the solution called Aqua Finesse, there isn't much to it when doing your weekly maintenance.

Aqua Finesse Solution

The hot tub water care system, our skin will feel the difference! Provide the cleanliest, crystal-clarity and softness of water, simply by doing this one minute, one time per week sanitation system. This product not only creates a crystal clear look to the water, it does much more. The buildup of biofilm and water mold or pink slime can happen over time and it is a common occurrence with heavy usage. The Aqua Finesse Solution will address these problems head-on and essentially "strip" the layers of organic matter that has created a safe shelter for bacteria. Sometimes even large amounts of sanitizer may not penetrate the barrier around the bacteria. Most bacteria – almost 99% of bacteria, actually live in the biofilm, the other 1% is "˜free-floating" and actually live in the water itself. Traditional sanitizer such as, chlorine or bromine, can eliminate the 1% but most of the time, doesn't eliminate the 99%, which is the most important to eliminate.

The second Aqua Finesse is added to the water, it begins the process of stripping and loosening the biofilm that is in the water preventing the sanitizer to do its job. The bacteria now have no more shelter to protect them, leaving them exposed and vulnerable. Now, it is time to destroy the freshly exposed bacteria with minimal sanitizer. Introducing a new bather into the water will of course re-enter bacteria, however, the biofilm is now conditioned with Aqua Finesse so the bacteria can't stick to the biofilm and multiple. These bacteria are quickly eliminated by the sanitizer from the coagulation of the Aqua Finesse Solution.

Since the Aqua Finesse Solution breaks down the biofilm in the water, the need for sanitizer is significantly much less than the need when using a standard sanitation method. With that being said, there is still a need for balancing chemicals such as; alkalinity, ph, calcium hardness and so on. The need for the balancing chemicals is also much less when using Aqua Finesse but it is still needed to maintain the water chemistry.

All-in-all, Aqua Finesse gets to the real root of the problem and fixes it the environmentally friendly way. ONE minute. ONE time per week. ONE genuine breakthrough.

Weekly / Monthly Maintenance

Whether you are using a standard method of sanitizing or you have chosen to use the Aqua Finesse Solution, there are simple steps to maintaining the water chemistry. The most effective way, that we have found, is to choose specific days of the week to do the balancing, so the ATV and yourself are on a set schedule.

For Example:
Standard sanitation (chlorine/bromine): Every Sunday I am going to bring a water sample to AquaPRO [location link] and receive my water test results. I will then get home and complete the procedure the analysis crew had given me for that week. Aqua Finesse Solution: Every Sunday I am going to bring a water sample to AquaPRO and receive my water test results. I will then get home and complete the procedure given to me by the analysis crew for that week. Then, 24 hours later I am going to add my Aqua Finesse Solution as per the table on the back of the bottle.

On a weekly maintenance, regardless of which method of sanitation you are using, you want to make sure the sanitizer level, alkalinity level, ph level, and calcium hardness level are all in their corresponding range.

Filter Maintenance
When maintaining your ATV, most people forget about the filters. If you keep on a maintenance schedule, hopefully you won't forget about yours!

When cleaning the dirty filter, swap it with a clean, dry spare. Since you are swapping your filters every month to clean them, they will last much longer than if you weren't doing this step. Allowing the filters to dry completely before returning to the water will help destroy any microorganisms that may need the water to survive.

Filters should be cleaned every 2 to 3 weeks, and replaced every 1 to 2 years. This will ensure a long life for your filters. AquaPRO [location link] has filter tabs to clean your filters, all you do is;

  1. Add 2 filter cleaning tabs in a bucket (a little taller than your filter), filled with warm water and soak the filter(s) overnight to remove any biofilm and debris collected in the pleats of the cartridge filter. It contains no harsh chemicals, and cleans using natural acids (will NOT degrade Microban® filters).
  2. After the filters have been soaking for at least 8 hours, remove them from the bucket of water and rinse them off with a strong stream of water from your garden hose. This will remove any excess debris or solution left in the filter pleats.
  3. The last thing you need to do, is allow the filters to dry completely before replacing them back in your ATV.

Now that you have balanced your water chemistry and cleaned your filters, you are ready to jump in and ENJOY!
